Backgrounds for photographing miniature models can be as simple as a small, flat card. The camera has no depth perception so if you arrange things carefully you might even be able to use a postcard with distant mountains, or a print of one of your own photos as a backdrop. Or you can go out and take some pictures of your own specifically to be used as backdrops for table top photos.
