I think I got it.

The part of the name: "HDR and Advanced Photo Editing" tat I have a hard time digesting, is the word "Editing". Editing is done in a way that it is not noticed when it is finished. The work done here is not editing. The work done here is MANIPULATION. it is intended to alter the appearance of an image, rather than to repair or enhance a photograph.

I think that if we learn to use these two words more appropriately, old-school photographers like myself will feel more comfortable around "Photogs"

Also, If the title were "HDR and Advanced Photo Manipulation" it would give the HDR part a little more respect as a technique for improving a scene that has more range between the brightest and the darkest areas as well as a tool that can be used to manipulate an ordinary unremarkable photo into something seemingly more appropriate.
