An encounter with the Bubble Man from BLAAARRP!!


(Photographer's note: most shots, perhaps all, are with the Fuji's 35/1.4, the "50mm equivalent". This is a sequence of handheld shots taken over a couple of minutes.
You can guess from the frame numbers that the XT-1 system in my hands is not as effective as my Canon was. ...OR, I could say, I was more reliant on the Canon's ability than mine.

And if I had to earn a living from snapping, I'd have no problem whatsoever sacrificing a desire for an aesthetic workout for getting a crust on the table.

That said, when the XT-1 nails it, it soars.
The MANNER in which the XT-1 system underperforms is one typified by "lag" during the snapping experience: the AF might be decent enough but the "synapse to action" time, if you like, is slowing the whole experience.
The REASON, is oddly the very "jinba ittai" concept from Japan that seeks, I'm guessing, to symbolically "unite" the photographer, Camera and lens into a uber-efficient gestalt, similar to the Horse + Rider "fusion" of medieval Japan.
Thing is, if one element is weak, the whole thing is, and both horse and rider fall just when you need to get over that last jump, so to speak!)
