Dear Doug, Your shots are magnificient! I am trying to id. a beautiful spider I had never seen before,until last summer on my butterfly bush.It had a plump abdomen, antique-white in color with four equally spaced brown markings; his legs were white to a lower joint and then brown; approx.1/2- 3/4 " long and legs perspectively equal to body, i.e.not elongated. Some of your Crab Spider shots appear similar in shape, but the spider I observed was not yellow in tint. And, I never would have noticed him had I not been observing a Monarch Butterfly for an extended period of time and grew suspicious when she wasn't moving. Sure enough, under the blossom she was gathering nectar from, was this perfectly camouflaged spider that must have bitten her and was feeding from her.I appreciate your helping me id. this spider very much: after making calls and reading ref.books I have not had an accurate id. Hello! Great site. Thanks for sharing it. I am looking for a specific piece of information. I was told that some hornet sting a leaf and genetically alter it, creating a round sponge like pod to lay their eggs in. I have one in my possesion. Does this sound true to you? What ever help you can offer would be appreciated. Carole

Doug, you have some very good shots here. Interesting to see the types of shots you can achieve with th kenko extension tubes and your 70-200 f4 lens.
