Demoiselle Crane

Scientific name: Anthropoides virgo
Order: Gruiformes

The Demoiselle Crane is known to be one of the smaller of all cranes and are found in steppe habitats, meadows, feathery grass, and damp marshes. They range in Northwestern Africa, to Japan, and Western Europe. The crane migrates to Africa and South Asia in winter. They feed on plants, grass seeds, insects, and grains.
