Defensive Works begun in the 15th century BC and later rebuilt extensively. One has to realize this place had been built on before, so by then there was a mound, the sides of which were smoothed and covered with stones so attackers would not have a hold. This is the only surviving section of what once must have surrounded the whole town or at least the most important parts. In it there is an entrance and a road which, after a corner to the left has been negotiated, leads to the entrance to the royal palace.
