Until about 1980 the terrain on these pictures was supposed to contain a temple, but then excavations indicated it was the area of a three aisle basilica, called the East Basilica. It was created in the 5th or 6th century, a number of columns have been re-erected. It seems to have been the centre of a monastery area at the edge of the Byzantine town. I took pictures a bit randomly as I descended from the restaurant uphill (careful, slippery) and then walked about.
