The Valide Han the guidebook Strolling Through Istanbul mentions as being the largest han in Istanbul. It is from 1651, built by Sultan Valide Kösem, shortly before she died in 1651, on the site of an older palace founded by Cerrah Mehmet Paşa.
For some reason I tend to visit mainly the inner court. The main courtyard is the biggest part, but I find the inner one more romantic. At several points one can climb onto the roof, I show some older pictures I took from that roof.
