I was delighted to find in 2011 that the so-called terrace houses houses are open to public visit now (last time I tried to visit them they were still being covered and prepared for display). They were built along a steep slope and give a fine look into what a (rich mans) house would look like, with frescos and fine mosaics. We only see the lower floors and often only the ground floor.
One cannot wander around in them, but has to walk an elevated route. As a result I had to take some pictures from great distances and under awkward angles. I used telephoto lenses when needed and tried to correct for the latter to the best of my Photoshop-knowledge. I cannot guarantee that there are no distortions in some pictures. Similarly, there is a red-yellowish colour cast all over the place. I have corrected the colour on some shots, in particular on the frescoes. On others I did not correct at all, mainly the ones that show wide spaces. On those you will see the light as you might perceive it yourself, on the corrected ones I have sometimes gone for clarity of the picture, maybe ruining some of the actual colours, on most I went for as little correction as possible. I have changed saturation in some cases.
