When the minibus from Abana to Sinop past a sign, indicating we had 20 kilometers to go, I noticed that the surrounding woods were great for a walk. So I returned there, and instead of making the walk, sat in a wood with huge trees and lush grass under them for an hour or more. A flock of sheep past by, for the rest all was quiet. I returned to this place for two more "walks" (well, I moved a bit, but not outside a two kilometers wide "window"). On one of them I found a stream with hundreds if not thousands of frogs, and some other animals. So I thought I ought to show some of these pictures of another Turkey, with woods and animals instead of mosques and old houses.

Abana’dan Sinop’a giden yolda, minibüs, Sinop’a 20 km’nin kaldığını gösteren bir levhayı geçerken, çevredeki ormanların yürüyüş yapmak için harika yerler olduğunu farkettim. Ben de oraya yeniden gittim ve yürüyüş yapmak yerine, altında gür çimenler olan devasa ağaçların bulunduğu bir ormanda bir saatten fazla oturdum. Önümden bir koyun sürüsü geçti, bunun dışında etraf tamamen sessizdi. Oraya iki “yürüyüş” için daha gittim (gerçi biraz hareket ettim ama yine de iki kilometreden fazla yürümedim). Bu yürüyüşlerden birinde binlerce değilse de yüzlerce kurbağa ve başka hayvanlarla dolu bir dere buldum. Ben de, camiler ve eski evler yerine, ormanlar ve hayvanların olduğu farklı bir Türkiye’yi anlatan bu resimlerin bazılarını göstermemin iyi olacağını düşündüm.
