The house with consoles is situated to the north of the commercial agora, behind the shops in the colonnaded street leading to the inner city gate. Its name was given by archaeologists because of the finds of consoles (a support element in the architecture of a construction such as a balcony) which supported the upper floor, that may have collapsed after a fire. It consists of various rooms around a courtyard in the center of the house. Some of the rooms have mosaic floor. There is also a fountain and a canalization system inside the house. It was built in the Hellenistic period and used until during the Byzantine period.
