This is the Old Silk Han (Eski Ipek Hanı).
Also called ‘Sultan Hanı’ (the Sultan’s Kervansaray) of ‘Arabacılar Hanı’ (Han of the Coachmen, because until the end of the 19th century coaches and carriages used to be parked on its courtyard). It is one of Bursa’s largest hans. It was built during the reign of Çelebi Sultan Mehmed I (first quarter of the 15th century), probably by the royal architect Ivaz Paşa, who built the Yeşil Mosque and Mausoleum too. It was restored in 1557, 1632, 1742, 1775 and in the 1960s. Only the west section is original; the other parts were rebuilt following new drafts.
It is now a shopping center for (mainly) textiles.
