A viewer commented (some edits by me): "Atatürk visited Kars in 6th October 1924. People of Kars welcomed Atatürk as folllows: "Welcome Mustafa Kemal Paşa! Live long with your nation, army and state!".
They housed him with great hospitality. This monument is built by Kars Governer Nevzat Turhan in memory of the 80th anniversary of our Republic."
