I took the train back. For along the Marmara side there runs a very old but functioning train (other trains follow the same track, but this is for local transport, with many stops). Things have changed: it used to have all sorts of itinerant salesmen aboard, who'd try to sell their wares between two stops: lighters, razorblades, penlights, that sort of things, but I had the impression police control has stepped up, and I saw none of them.
