Next time you are in Istanbul do not forget to visit this building. It holds the new (2005) Museum of Modern art, and I found its collection well above what I expected, some things were outstanding. It's a spacious building, and from within you have some fine views on the Bosporus. Hard to find though, get off the tram at the stop before last (I think that would be Tophane) and then ask. It is hidden behind some other buildings, close to a 19th century mosque with some tea houses where you can smoke waterpipes.
