I have in my younger years always abstained from wearing such silly things as caps and other sports clothes. However, on one occasion I was in Turkey with some friends, one of whom (his name is Eric Krabbenbosch) kept pestering me to put on a cap. The minute I did so I was captured on film. Later, returning from one of my Turkey trips, I found this friend, who is a talented draughtsman, had taken the picture and painted my face on a plate that he bought. Later again I showed a picture of the plate (this picture) to Mr. Gürsoy, who greatly honoured me by visiting me at my Amsterdam home, passing through from an exhibition in the USA. He was much impressed by the work of this friend.

So this is a fake "Iznik çini" plate, but in Kütahya you can take a picture to any pro and have it put on a plate.
