Antakya 7287

This is the Syrian Orthodox Church "which is not normally open to visitors", the Lonely Planet Guide states. Well, I was in luck, they were spring-cleaning it, or for some other reason the door stood open, and in I walked. Peaceful, and slightly strange in its interior (I mainly know Catholic churches from Italy, or protestant ones from my home country, and they don't have a screen in front of the altar, as in Orthodox churches).

Hi... This is just a great .. i am an Antiochian Christian young who is now in Belgium for studying. Coming across to those pictures. The Church which i was baptised in, Its garden where my great grand father worked as a builder, the interior where for at least four generations family marriages and baptisings take place... it just made me so happy ... feelin great ... Thanks a lot for doing such a great thing and if you ever come to Antioch again .. i would like to meet you ...
