statuette

view map

A viewer kindly sent me a message (for which i thank her) which enables me to add the following information:

It is a bronze from Tokat and it depicts a god. It does not conform completely to Hittite conventions and traditions as the horns are attached to the head rather than to the headdress, and the position of the right arm is more like that of the Syrian (Ugaritic) Baal statues.

Dated 16th – 15th century BC. Dimensions: 11½ cm high, 4 cm wide.

other sizes: small medium large original auto
