Not knowing how to interpret these mosaics myself I am pleased that a guest commented (I suppose rightly): The bathing of the new born baby Mary. I suppose we can safely assume the baby was a virgin at the time.

The Virgin Mary, being the New Eve, was a Virgin before, during and after giving birth to Jesus. Jesus was begotten in her womb by the Power of the Holy Spirit without human intervention and by the same Power, He came out of her body without causing any damage to her immaculate body.
