This is all that's left of the Zeus altar. Digs in 1878-1886 by German archeologists brought the beautiful decorations to light, that were then brought to a Berlin museum. Note: The Sultan gave his permission. Nevertheless, it is a pity they cannot be seen in situ, or in the museum.
