At this shop I use to buy some victuals for a days hike. I always buy some extra "cake" for the dogs I may encounter. When in the Eastern parts, where the fierce Sivas dogs guard the flocks of sheep, I have found that a piece of cake will turn the fiercest of sheepdogs into a friend. I am not afraid of dogs but with a bit of grub the encounters are so much more friendly. It may be difficult to part, and you may have to make a show of no, really not having any cake left. If I don't run into dogs in the wild, there will always be a city dwelling brother to take care of the left overs.
