A mosque built as the Receb Ağa Masjid (Green Mosque) was built in 1903 with the help of Kütahya Governor Ahmed Fuad Pasha and the people. The inscription of the mosque's construction in 1858 was hung inside the mosque on a wooden plate. According to what is understood from this inscription and endowment, the mosque was called Receb Ağa Masjid until 1858, and it was called Yeşil Mosque after this date. On this spot several earlier prayer rooms had existed, but were all ruined somehow.
