The children roamed the streets in droves when I visited the city, some of them with a brightly covered delicacy that seems to be made of apples dipped in syrup. I didn’t taste it, but they loved it. The narrow streets don’t provide much playground, but children manage to enjoy themselves anywhere. This child enjoyed being my guide for half an hour or so, here he is standing in a decorative element in the gate of a former han, now transformed into in a hotel that was beyond my means.
