This figured soffit architrave belonging to the Propylon or monumental entrance of the South Bath in Perge is one of the rarest examples of monumental pieces found to date, as the base is completely decorated with ornament. This monument was added during the Severan period to the east entrance of the Monumental Bath complex (the South Baths) dating from the Roman Empire period.
Some mythological figures were carved on both sides and in the round area in the middle of decoration which involves the whole lower surface of the architrave. Heads or Medusa are carved as reliefs in the medallions on the architrave whit soffit belonging to this structure, which are displayed for exhibition. Lion, mule and Eros figures with spears are carved around the heads of Medusa. The architrave is also decorated with carved lotus-palmet and egg and pearl designs .
