I took a metropolitan train to Menemen, some 20 kilometers from the heart of town. On the way there I saw some totally new built suburbs, this obviously had a somewhat older "heart", a thing I liked. I think Menemen is a city in its own right, but it feels like an Izmir suburb.
This is the New Mosque (Yeni Camii) from 1950.
