Myra Saint Nicolas church March 2011 5805.jpg

I presume this to be the altar with four columns surrounding it. A viewer let me know "The two pillars in front probably supported a lintel with perhaps a curtain hung from it. The base of the closer column looks like it has a notch in it, which could indicate a low wall (about 4 foot high) was there. If so, the structure is called a templon, and is the predecessor of the ikonstasis in modern Orthodox churches."
