I sidetracked to some side streets that turned to be at the northern side of the Şezade Mosque. Poor dwellings, niCe atmosphere, ancient buildings all around, waiting for restoration.

I got a first glimpse here of the Valens Aquaduct that we'll see somewhat later. I took this picture partly to show the aquaduct, partly to show there is still some cleaning up to do. The unfortunate thing of course is that whenever modern cities clean things up nowadays, that mainly means: destruction of the atmosphere and removal of the occupants.
