I'm glad I came back here to have another look at this wonderful image.
What an amazing story behind the picture! :)))
I looks as if the old geranium is enjoying a second life!

This geranium has a story. Years ago my wife and I were replanting flowers on her father's grave in a heavily shaded cemetary in Five Islands, Maine. I pulled a few weeds and the remains of a geranium, two pencil like sticks with a few tiny leaves, and threw them all in a trash bag. When we got home I thought it looked like there may still be life left in it so I replanted the geranium in an old copper pot where it has flourished ever since. "Ralph" as we affectionately call it (after my father-in-law) spends winters in our house and summers in front of my woodshop (pictured) in Pownal, Maine. Good memories. Thanks Don.
