I thought about trying to not just take a photo and convert it to black and white, but (at least occasionally) find a some sort of other connection to black and white as well.
In this case, it's the classic .. what's black and white and read all over.

If that index ring finger curled just a bit more, you'd have something for the birds. :). Nice detail and the rightward focal point adds definite interest. I would have probably cropped this landscape, but I think the vertical framing was the right choice.

I just looked at your image entitled Dry Cleaning and understand why you would want to be more creative than just b/w.
You must have been in the gifted and talented class while in school.

Indeed, the icon for B&W shots...the newspaper. Well thought out and done. I like the DOF and the detail in the hand.

Good idea, and just enough DOF to make out some of the words, without being distracting.
