Jonathan Hamilton is an amazing, talented potter. I've bought more than a few pieces from him to give as gifts (and to keep for myself). He uses only local clay he digs himself rather than ordering it from an art supply company and mixes his own glazes. I like the pieces that still show the imprint of his fingers made as the pottery wheel turned and he formed the centered clay into something more than it was before. I interviewed both Jonathan and his wife, Meg, several years ago and photographed him at work. Meg creates handmade jewelry (and yes, I've bought her pieces too). This is one of his pieces, a pitcher, green glazed, about 18" tall.
