Blue Umbrella (Mackinlaya sp)

I grew this from seed collected locally on the edge of the rainforest. The fruit, not yet developed in this image, are blue, and I guess “umbrella” refers to the flower/fruit arrangement with miniature radiating clusters (umbels) within the larger cluster (also an umbel). This is a slender shrub (almost a small vine) and a member of the carrot family Apiaceae (formerly Araliaceae) which grows well in shady, moist places.

What an interesting perspective. Almost makes you dizzy looking into the depths of the plant. Good one Don.

This is an interesting plant and looks like some of the Apiaceae we see here (mostly European species). Beaautiful lacy effect. V
