Buddleia 'Ivory'

I planted this dwarf Buddleia because of its reputed ability to attract butterflies to its flowers; it is not an Australian native plant.
It has grown fast and flowered well, even contributing a feint perfume to the air – but I’ve yet to see a butterfly visiting the flowers.

They usually do attract butterflies; when we last had one we had butterflies visit
but the wild scabiosa works better. v

I've planted Buddleia too, and have not had butterflies come to it, but have had other insects. However, at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, this shrub was very attractive to monarch butterflies in 2012 (when there more monarchs around). V

This image is lovely without the butterfly. I can imagine it with one on the flower.V
