What was the name of the skating rink next to Bird Bowl in the 70's?

It was called Suniland Skating Rink.

The memories...I was there every Friday, 6pm - 11pm session. There was also an arcade in the skating rink. After skating for a while we would go to the small disco that was always packed. I remember DJ Mario...playing 80s new wave, punk, funk, etc. after that we would go to the pizza shop, grab a slice for a buck.= and chill with the kids from Midway Skating that would come hang out in our parking lot and play loud music from their cars. What I would give to back to those days...

Tropical West Skating Center. I practically lived there. We did the double sessions on Saturdays 11a - 6p and then 6p to 11p. It was like $4.00 for the first session and for like another dollar or two you could stay double session. Skated in my Reidell Classics black and brown hockey skates. Gus D - Miami born & raised. Yes, it later turned into Tropical West Skating Center and the teen disco inside was called Le Bush. There was also a Ferrari's Pizzeria on the eastside corner.

Dr. Jim Meffen...My family lived on Sunset Drive and 97th Avenue, when it was farm land...now a McDonalds and multiple housing developments...we then lived at the corner of Miller Road and the Palmetto Hwy....then SW 82nd Ave. just off Miller Rd. next to a riding stable..they were the best of days...My 8 kids loved it...before the vast hoards of Yankee retirees..So long ago that Don Shula was Dolphins coach and they were undefeated...We water skiied at the Miami Airport lakes..Great days!!

I think this was also a skating rink at one point. The Flea market was strange. I remember some hippie used to sell incense and the place stunk like a Berkeley dormroom.

i beleive this structure is still mostly there and is where navarro pharmacy and several other stores reside. i remember as a kid this place catching fire but not being torn down. i think they gutted it and turned it into a strip mall sometime in the early 80's.
