From the state archives: "One of the largest commercial shipments in aviation history begins from Miami International Airport as Pan Am cargo clippers start the gigantic task of carrying approximately 200,000 pounds of furniture and other equipment to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Pan Am cargo officials estimate 20 trips will be required to move the entire shipment consisting of 600 bed frames, 304 dressers, 352 vanity tables, 3,000 chairs and sofas and 335 floor lamps and miscellaneous items. Loading of the first cargo clipper at Miami is shown."

Aircraft c/n 22541. The aircraft depicted was used by Pan Am from August 1948 until January 1953.
