1941 - Pan American World Airways DC-3-228F NC33611

From the state archives: "The 21 Douglas DC-3 twin engine planes were placed in operation by PAA in 1937 doing yeoman service for many years to follow." However, this aircraft was written off when it crashed on takeoff at Port of Spain, Trinidad on June 4, 1945, with 12 occupants onboard. There were no fatalities. The state archives have the date of this photo as 1931 but the aircraft wasn't built until 1941.

There is currently a "DC-3" (actually a converted C-47) on the air show circuit in the markings of Pan Am NC33611.
