Late 90's - Florida State University Seminoles Head Coach Bobby Bowden and Don Boyd

Miami International Airport

Florida State University Seminoles head football coach Bobby Bowden brought down the FSU Seminoles to clobber the University of Miami Hurricanes at the Orange Bowl. My wife and daughter both graduated from FSU so I live in a Seminole household and it was an honor to meet him.

1/1/10 - Bobby Bowden retired from coaching FSU after his team won the Gator Bowl by beating West Virginia 33 to 21 in Jacksonville. Coach Bowden left after 57 years of coaching college football with 389 college football victories, 316 of them in a 34-year career with Florida State. The Gator Bowl was the 28th consecutive year that FSU was in a bowl game. The Seminoles have had a winning season for 33 consecutive years under Bobby Bowden. Some a-holes in the FSU administration and the boosters organization shortened Bobby's career by one year despite an earlier deal to let him retire in 2011 and their lack of integrity kept him from his goal of achieving 400 college wins.
