Correct, I remember getting a driver's license or renewal license there. I got my first restricted license at age 14 at the station on West Dixie Highway in North Miami and I presume it was that station that relocated to the former FEC passenger station.

It was later used as a Drivers License office. I renewed many a license there, back in the 1970's - 80's. The building still had that wonderful 1950's feel to it.

During that strike...someone blew-up a train on a bridge east of Grynolds Park.

The grandious North Miami train station was featured in an I Love Lucy episode called "Off to Florida" that aired Novermber 12, 1956... right around the time this brochure came out.
It's too bad that within five years that station would be abandoned forever as the FEC went out of the passenger business due to an unsettled strike by the workers. The company continued to use the rails and right-of-way for it's lucrative freight business.
