I recently stumbled upon the sculptures. They are truly amazing. They look as if they were placed there yesterday. They move with the slightest bit of breeze.I am sure the neighbors don't mind enjoying the beauty of these creations for themselfs, but never mind the rest of the world. The city of Colorado Springs should be ashamed of denying these beautiful creations their rightful home.

The pictures are beautiful, but nothing compares to seeing them with your own eyes! I am so lucky to have had the chance. I will make seeing these beautiful sculptures a priority next time I am in Colorado. I only wish more people could experience their beauty.

I loved viewing the Starr Kempf home. I would stay there for hours just admiring the Sculptures. this is also where my current Husband Proposed to me March 5, 2005
He knew I loved watching all the sculptures. so this is where he decided to pop the question. I was so happy and started to cry, for he knew this was the perfect place to ask me to marry him 2 days before he deployed to Iraq for a year. both of us still hold this site special in our hearts.

I first saw Starr Kempf's sculptures in 2001 during a visit to family members living in Woodland Park. I was truly amazed by his sculptures. I now live in Pueblo and teach art to middle schoolers. A study on sculpture would not be complete without learning more about this amazing artist. Please allow these pieces of art to adorn our landscape and continue to inspire all who drive past. Thank you to Starr's grandson for embracing the attitude of peace and harmony and using art as his vehicle.

Madelin and I were friends in college at CU. She invited me to join her family for Thanksgiving dinner in 1963. I still remember the beautiful Kempf home and all the wonderful sculptures on display throughout the home. Madelin was also artistic with a cosmopolitan air about her. I and my two kids lived in Colorado Springs from 1980-1982. I moved there to help start an animation company, and later spent considerable time attempting to provide a monumental sculpture for the front of the then new Performing Arts Center. I had met with Starr Kempf to see about the possibility of his being the sculptor for the project. I found he and his wife to be extremely warm and hospitable. He as an artist was nothing short of extraordinary. His kinetic artworks make for one of the wonders of the world.

Starr Kempf's gifts were amazing. I guess it is an old issue, but the neighbors adjacent to his home should be ashamed of their attitudes. Don't move into a neighborhood knowing what is there and then complain about it. The sculptures are a gift to the world.

I used to drive by these gigantic statues in Colorado Springs every chance I got, before all the neighbors started complaining. They are a beautiful attraction to the neighborhood and Starr Kempf was a very talented and nice man. It's a shame that the neighbors couldn't see all that beauty. I had the pleasure of meeting him once.
