This gallery is dedicated to pictures of Smokey and Fliss together. Each has also has a gallery of his or her own. Both came from shelters, Smokey as an adult and Fliss as a kitten. As far as we can tell, Smokey was born in 1997/8. We can be more precise about Fliss's age: she was born around the middle of January 2006, which makes her theoretically all grown up. However, "grown up" seems to be an alien concept to her, and Smokey followed her example!


These pictures go back to April 2006, so in the very early pictures it's easy to tell which is Fliss, since she's only a few weeks old and much smaller. Not that being smaller seemed inhibit her from being a little too playful on occasions, leading to a wrestling match (usually at 3am). By and large, though, they did get on with each other and were quite content to curl up together on the blanket box or any other soft surface, and groom one another.

Update

Sadly, both Smokey and Fliss are no longer with us. Both fell ill, at separate times, and despite treatment it became clear that there was no choice but to let them go.

We lost Smokey on 18 January 2013, when he was around 15 years old, and Fliss followed on 23 March 2019, aged 13.
