This is Fliss (full name Felicity, alias Tinycat or Miss Mischief). She was the smallest of a litter of six born at the on 14 January 2006 (based on her being about 8 weeks old when we first saw her).
The earlier pictures date from when she was about 11 weeks old. Since then she's grown considerably (lengthways at first, passing through the "lanky teenager" phase), and is now, at 16 months old, all grown up. Well, physically at least. I suspect she'll always be a kitten at heart.
Her latest nickname is "Trouble", since she remains full of mischief. As an example, she's trying to take up a new hobby - chasing wasps. Something that definitely has to be discouraged...
One other thing about young Fliss - she's black. Well, not completely, when the sun is on her it's possible to make out very faint markings, almost the same pattern as a tabby except that the colours are black and almost-black. Being so dark makes photography quite a challenge, and I remain forever grateful for post-processing.
Yes, Fliss was a rescue, although not in the sense that she'd just been abandoned or anything like that. Fliss and her siblings were tha result of an unplanned pregnancy, so the mother and her litter were brought into a local shelter so that the kittens could be rehomed. Which they all have been now.
