My Newest Steed

Okay, meet Diego, my newest bike. Picked it up today from an ad on Craigslist.
This is a 1989 Trek 1500 21 speed double crankset road bike. All aluminum, with 4,400
miles on it (it already has a bike computer on board). I paid $125 for it; I
have the original sales receipt of just under $1,000.

The most interesting feature is the saddle, which appears to be (gasp!) ostrich
hide. That may, or may not stay long.

Functionally, the bike works very well. Had to put a new tire on the rear, and it
may need some minor tweaking, but it was well cared for.

This marks the sixth bike I've purchased since June, 2005. One was sold, so I
still have five. And yes, they are kept inside my apartment.

Wow... the previous owner took good care of this baby. I know you'll do it proud as well. What a great price you paid.

Very cool wheels! That was $125 well spent. Keep the rubber side down!

Love the color. And now it seems you own more bikes than cameras!

Fantastic Gary - my collection now has enveloped the basement as well as the garage.
Good ridin' - be careful of that ostrich saddle that you don't go bury your head into some off-road pile of I don't know hat LOL

You better chain that baby up so no one will steal it! Great bike! I'm sure the ostrich wouldn't mind parking your butt on the seat!
