Roy's sharing that he photographed water droplets on CD's by dropping water from an eye dropper got me motivated to experiment. I have absolutely zippo attractive images with the eye dropper and also the lines printed on the DVD I used kept interfering with the design as you will see in this example. I wound up using a sprayer bottle to get finer droplets and placed the disk on a patch of sun on my carpet, moving around so I didn't cast a shadow on the disk and caught the most color.
DUH...no wonder it was noisy. I had the camera on ISO1600. I now have to try ISO 100!
