Tammy had these two adorable pictures of Savvy that she wanted to combine into one. I thought a treatment like this might work. Perhaps the dog in front should be puppy Savvy with the shoes? I created the lighter version of the puppy shot by making a blank layer above the original and then lowering the opacity from 100 until I liked the way it looked. I saved that lighter image to use as a layer beneath the one of the older Savvy, then used the background brush to remove the stuff around older Savvy (making sure to take a snapshot of the older Savvy in the history palette so I could restore anything I erased that shouldn't have been erased).
