Egyptian Baskets

Yesterday's picture of the Taxidermy Gray Fox was taken at the Buffalo Museum of Science (to see more PRESS HERE )

I started the day headed for the Buffalo Historical Society Museum. I walked in, paid my admission and was being handed a map of the museum when a very stern lady who was the "lead desk clerk" asked if I was planning on taking pictures. I had my camera bag with tripod strapped to my back and gleefully answered, "yes, a whole bunch of them". See said I couldn't...they don't allow cameras without prior written approval from the "Society". "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING?"

Bottom line, they refunded my admission fee and I headed off to the Buffalo Museum of Science, where my camera and I were graciously admitted.

It was more fun than the historical society anyway, as there were tons of people running around and kids on interactive exhibits. A much more fun place, it turned out.

I would have never gotten these pictures of the menagerie that I did had I stayed at the historical museum.

I'm glad it ended up as it did. Love the comp here, and your tones are spot on. GOOD work. That'll teach 'em!

Same here, Don. You carry a tripod your considered a professional photographer & that means big big $$$$ for public liability insurance also has to be paid :>(
Your baskets look great. I love the natural tones.

B&W is a good choice for these baskets. Nice shot

Excellent B&W shot Don! Nice tone and composition. I'm afraid that the "no photography" sign is going up in more and more places, very sad, really.

Too bad that the historical society lost out. I too, was at a museum yesterday that did not allow photos. I was dragging all my gear along for nothing.
I love the tones of the baskets. Very nice study.
