Diner

Buffalo, NY

Here's the story...

In early winter, and actually throughout the winter season, Buffalo is susceptible to "Lake Effect" snowstorms. Located on the eastern end of Lake Erie, Buffalo is the beneficiary of snow deposited as the result of cold winds moving over the lake water, picking up moisture then depositing that moisture, in the form of snow, upon reaching land (Buffalo). They call that “lake effect” snow.

The Lake Effect Diner is open 24hours. This morning I was up early, took a walk and shot some frames of the diner. This collection is the result.

By the way, the clock is wrong, it was about 5:15, not 2:30. Elaine would have been questioning me had I left bed at 2:30 to "go for a walk".

Very Nice Pics.

Remindes me of when I was a toung boy, coming home from middle school and stopping in for a milkshake.

Yeah, this was my grandparents diner in Wayne, Pa."The Wayne Diner" was it's name.

I need to get up there to see it again.

Wonderful collection of images Don! Love the lights, neon signs ... it must have been really cold - I can barely remember as I left Ohio on a cold winters day when I was 22 ... never been back and never lived in the snow again!

Interesting Don
Is it near Bailey and Main?

Really like the presentation Don--from all different angles the 'effect' is liek we're right there.
Never did understand why they have to differentiate between Lake Effect snow and just plain snow. (After living on the east coast of Lake Michigan we got more than our share) Snow is snow, no matter how it gets there, imho.

Many a night was spent with friends in diners
in my former life as an East Coaster.
Fascinating neon on this one that my dad would
be proud of.

"Snow fooling" a diner with that name. Nice night work. Stay warm ;-)
