Sometimes you get lucky

They said it was in mint condition.
I knew it was used but they said mint.
The box came in today and I swear it was new.
I opened up my D2Hs and there was not a mark on it.
No dust, no scratches, no nothing.
The shield was still on the charger.
I did a quick charge and popped a shot.
I saw the release count and was shocked.
I had just taken the first picture with this camera.
It seems that it was the first one it ever took.
Someone had this thing sitting around.
It has lost thousands of dollars in value.
It had to be someones backup camera they never used.
Kept in the box in case of emergency.
Maybe at a newspaper in a closet just in case.
And then it just dropped into my lap.
I randomly check the used market for them.
I bought another one, but it was junk and returned.
I took this shot and I am overjoyed I did.
Finding it was just pure luck.
Kind of like a lot of things in life.
The timing just has to be right.
And when it is right, life is good.
