Here is a hastily-done sequence of shots I took as I demonstrate how to use an inexpensive lens adapter ring to adapt a Nikon M-2 extension tube onto my Canon EOS 5D body. After the adapter and extension tube are connected to the body, I then bayonet on a 55mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor lens. I shot these photos all one-handed with my D70 fitted with a Panagor Auto Macro Converter and then my 45mm P-Nikkor,and I focused by moving the subject matter closer or farther until I got it into good focus. Working distances ranged from about 6 inches to 18 inches from the front of the lens. I set the lens to f/5.6,an according to the Panagor, with a 50mm lens, and I took these pictures within the 1:10 to apprx. 1:6 ranges, using the variable extension function of the Panagor, the engraved scale which showed that my f/5.6 lens aperture was losing about 2.5 f/stop's worth of light. I just held the subject matter about a foot away from a 24x24 inch softbox fitted with an eggcrate,on a JTL 300 monolight.
