I wanted to see how well this lens can stand a bright light source set against a dark field,so I snapped this photo at 8:00 PM. At this time of night, and for the proceeding 45 minutes or so, the S2's factory Shade white balance (represented by the cloudy icon) seems to do a pretty good job where I live. I shot this at -1 exposure value in centerweighted metering, which is about what my S2 usually needs to deliver a twilight feel in light levels this dim. Shot at 0.0 correction, this scene would look "too bright" to represent the actual, prevailing light level. This is also sort of an autofocus test...the 135 DC had no trouble locking onto the body on the right-most glass using the center focus patch, which I locked with the thumb button, and then I composed and took the photo. So,overall, I was pretty impressed with the lens's ability to focus in this dim light. I took seven shots this way, focusing each time on one of the glasses, locking the focus, and then shooting. All of them had good focus on the glass that was focused on. This is just a representative shot. All shots handled the light in the field with no problem either.
