DSCF4249_evening300mm.JPG

This is my standard 50% web reduction. Suffice it to say, from almost 70 feet away this lens is doing pretty well for a low-light,hand-held shot at 300mm,particularly since it's 5.6 wide-open. Centers and edges look pretty close in terms of resolution, even with the natural darkening of the edges of the frame due to the shadows. Pretty good performance at 5.6 sharpness-wise. This house is on an angle to my camera position,so the last seven siding boards on the right hand side of the frame are starting to slip out of the DOF zone, but this is a focus placement issue. The left side of the house is within the DOF zone, and I'm fairly happy with this degree of detail representation,in this low light.
