This is likely to be the closest I'll ever get to one of these birds in the wild - I would reckon he was less than 30 yards away at the time.
He seemed more concerned about two other eagles circling overhead than he was about me!

Update ~ Sadly 'Red 2' was killed by a train near Auchtermuchty
in April 2013 having survived for only 18 months or so in the wild.
